Vest, Choker and Visible Roots

Whenever it’s the end of the summer, I feel like I’m running out of clothes. I know for a fact that my clothing supply hasn’t shrunk, so I’m convinced this sensation is a bizarre psychosomatic side-effect of the imminent end of the season.

The reality is, I haven’t been repeating whole outfits — just re-circulating the same pieces in different combinations. This outfit is a primary example.

Vest: Elizabeth & James (Consignment) | Tank Top: AYR | Jeans: Madewell | Tote: MADE Les Essentiels

You’ve seen the Madewell boyfriend jeans here. The Marni sandals first appeared here. (The sandals have been on the blog at least three other times.) And the AYR tank was seen here. This is the vest’s debut, but you’ve gotten a chance to witness my vest obsession here, here and here.

Choker: Trademark | Moonstone Necklace: Catbird

This outfit had an unintentional 90s vibe — like something Winona Ryder would have worn in Reality Bites if she had gotten the job in the newsroom.

There’s something deeply satisfying about the dual natures of simple pieces. Each of these items can morph into completely different genres. Which is all the empirical evidence I need to prove that I have plenty to wear.

How are you dressing for the dog days of summer? Does it feel like you’re running low on new inspiration?
