Weekend Warrior Pose

No matter the season, you can always find me in white jeans. (Here’s how I wore them in winter.) They’re crisp, they’re easy and they’re sophisticated. White jeans also go with every color in the universe — although I am partial to gray as a personal favorite. Here’s how I wore gray and white recently:

Gray Blazer: Dior (Consignment) | Gray Top: Saint Laurent (Consignment) | White Jeans: AG (Lord & Taylor) | Shoes: Native Shoes (Zappos.com) | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban Clubmasters

You’ve seen all these pieces before in different contexts (the blazer was worn for work here; the shirt was last seen here; and the jeans have been seen here and here).

While this outfit is almost entirely comprised of secondhand designer clothes, the inspiration was actually from a mall favorite — Banana Republic. Here’s how they styles similar items in a recent campaign:

My inspiration came from this look by Banana Republic.

BTW, If you want to re-create the Banana Republic look, you can get the shirt here, the jacket here and similar pants here.

As I’ve written before, I try to wear my work blazers and blouses on the weekend, so I can ditch the office-centric associations of some clothes and just enjoy them. It’s a good way to maximize your wardrobe, too. If I swapped out the jeans for black trousers and wore a heel, this entire outfit could easily convert for the office.

I want to take a quick second to discuss these shoes. They’re by a kooky brand called Native Shoes, which I can only describe as a more stylish version of Crocs. These shoes are lightweight, lace-less and made of some kind of rubber, making them completely waterproof.

Normally when it rains, I wear Hunter boots (last seen here), but these weigh almost nothing and are perfect during warmer months. This model is called the Jefferson, and you can buy them for $50 here. They are, by far, my favorite new brand discovery of the past month.
