Target’s Latest Collaboration looks AMAZING

Hi guys, today I’m taking a quick break from all the India coverage to talk about a Target collaboration I’m incredibly excited about. This time, the collection’s co-creators are Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power, the editors behind the fashion blog Who What Wear. (Check out Target’s announcement here.)

Now, I’ve written a LOT about Target collaborations on this blog, including the Lilly Pulitzer fiasco here, the sublime Altuzarra collection here and the “vintage” pieces I’m still hoarding from the early aughts here.

But this collection is truly special. It’s sophisticated, designed for diverse body shapes and best of all — every single piece is under $50. (So refreshing, as I detest when Target gets super-opportunistic and charges high prices for its collaborations — exhibit A, the Neiman Marcus disaster.)

Here’s a sneak preview of some of my favorite looks. The collection goes on sale January 31, and you can bet I’ll be there with bells on.

olivedress

The olive dress is perfect — a flattering cut, a great color, a nice length. I’m buying this immediately and wearing with both winter with tights and spring with sandals.

laceuptop

I had an OMG moment when I saw this top. It’s the perfect alternative to buying the sold out $78 version at Reformation, which has already been snapped up by every cool girl on the Eastern seaboard. As a side note, this top is way less revealing than the Reformation version, so you can actually wear it in public. Sold.

blackdress

It’s like someone went into my brain and custom-designed my dream dress. I love the elegant simplicity of this — the black canvas is as special as you choose to make it, via your accessories. That red bum bag reminds me of vintage Louis Vuitton. Swoon.

This lace-up detail is just quirky enough to add some interest to what could otherwise be a sack. Strangely, I’m drawn to this — but thank to it’s unusual shape, I’d try this one before buying, though.

I absolutely love everything about this. (Wonder why — look familiar?)

This looks like a dead ringer for a look from Hedi Slimane’s Saint Laurent runway — the cape blazer is incredibly inventive and looks very expensive.

Here’s one more look at the models during the lookbook shoot:

Here’s how he outfit on the left as originally conceived during the sketching phase. I love seeing how these images come to fruition.

What do you think? Do you love these clothes as much as I do?
