A Miami Christmas in Photos

If you asked me to choose a favorite between Miami (my hometown) or Manhattan (my adopted home), I’d typically choose NYC in a heartbeat. But Miami ALWAYS gets the edge in December.

I’m aggressively recharging, but I’ve compiled some snippets of my hometown sojourn below. In the meantime, I’m taking Christmas off — but I’ll be back on Friday.

On a side note, Christmas is always a contemplative time of year. In 2014, I’m particularly grateful for every single one of you reading. Happy holidays!

This trip, I’ve been living in striped shirts.

I look forward to seeing my parents’ pooches every year.

When I’m in Miami, I’m in “chill” mode — so I avoid South Beach like the plague. Instead, I take a lot of walks to Biscayne Bay.

Growing up, my mom HATED fake Christmas trees. (I seem to recall the word “tacky.”) Guess she changed her tune.

I used to climb this tree as a kid, and now I can’t even reach the branches. Great way to feel old.

This house has an unlimited supply of nuts. (Pun intended.)

You could set you clock to these ibis — they fly southward every evening at sunset.
