Happy Friday, friends! Another weekend is upon us, which means it’s time for Catalog Police, a weekly takedown of the mail-order catalog horrors arriving on our doorstep.

Today, we’re discussing Anthropologie’s June catalog preview, which you can view online here. Happily, I can report that most of the outfits are delightful, including this gingham shirt, this striped tank top, and this pale pink tunic.

But there are always a couple of stinkers. Let’s take a look.

Suntide Dress, $118

Whenever I’m packing for a dreamy beach vacation, I ALWAYS reach for my baggy elephant skin sundress!

Not but really — what’s with the current cultural obsession with sack dresses?

Verano Dress, $148
Verano Dress, $148

It’s “Sack Dress — the Sequel!” But seriously. I do not understand this sack dress phenomenon.

Paige Rikki Overalls, $258

Look. Only Chloe Sevigny can pull these off — and even she’s just skating by on her subculture cachet. Do not attempt.

Blue Ribbon Denim Skirt, $128

It’s easy to create this monstrosity. Just cross-breed Karen Carpenter’s denim skirts with Lloyd Christmas’ ruffled suit!

Arbor Silk Tunic, $198
Arbor Silk Tunic, $198

This is like a bizarre superhero cape. But instead of leaping over skyscrapers, you’re just good at hopping the clothesline while the tie dye is drying.

Let me know what you think of these looks from Anthro, and happy weekend!
